This recent shoot of these three beautiful girls was a pleasure. We had lots of laughs and fun–the two older girls were pros, and they came up with tons of poses to kept me busy! I just love being a family photographer–I have the wonderful opportunity of meeting all kinds of amazing kids and families. Thanks again for a great shoot!

If you haven’t driven down Vaughan Rd lately then it’s time to take another look. 21 Vaughan Rd has become quite the hub for locals. With two new stores, Ecoexistence, and Beverley Daniels Photography, no longer are the variety stores and fly by night businesses of yester year. Once a tired and dated strip, 21 Vaughan is shaping up and drawing some much needed attention.
Celia Hirsh has been at 21 Vaughan for several years and creates the most stunning pottery you’ve ever seen. She has been working with clay since 1975. Her pieces are both decorative and functional, and each piece is one-of-a-kind. Her amazing use of colour and shape makes her work a truly unique piece of art. Celia is often inspired by human and natural form. Stop by to see what new pieces are emerging from the kiln. www.hirshpottery.com.

Next on the strip is Ecoexistence. This unique eco-friendly store opened its doors in December 2008. Owner Kym Klopp wanted to offer the neighbourhood an eco-alternative. This “green” mother of two was aware of the toxic chemical exposure in most conventional products and set out to provide safe and affordable products for her kids and her neighbourhood. Her complementary product line includes a great selection of items under $100. With items such as Teflon free cookware, stainless steel baby bottles, and organic mattresses, Ecoexistence is your one stop shop for all your eco-friendly household needs. www.ecoexistence.ca

New on the block is Beverley Daniels Photography. Beverley specializes in custom fine art portraits of maternity, newborns, children and families. This mother of two has been in the photography business since 2005. Previously photographing families in her home, Beverley opened the doors to her new studio in November 2009. The studio offers a wide range of products such as custom photo albums, coffee table books, and gallery wrapped canvas. Whether it’s capturing a belly laugh, a loving glimpse between mother and child, or the beautiful belly of a pregnant woman, Beverley’s personality and passion for photography brings out the best in everyone. www.beverleydanielsphotography.com

Up next is Amazon Indoor Playground, a long time neighbourhood favorite. Amazon not only provides children a fun and safe place to play, it also provides a place for parents to meet and relax. There’s plenty of space for kids to run around and let off some steam. Kids can dress up in costumes, put on a play, or jump in the bouncy castle until their hearts content. Owners Maia and Stephanie Ranihan have had many years of experience working with children, which shows in the wide variety of enriching programs they offer children aged 10 months to 10 years. Whether you are looking for your child’s next birthday location, a great spot for summer camp, or the perfect drop off program, Amazon has what you’re looking for. www.amazondowntown.com

With all of these great hot spots under one roof, 21 Vaughan Rd is sure to please every member of the family.

It always warms my heart to see the bond between mother and daughter. I recently photographed L and N who love to cook together and are equals in the kitchen. We had fun playing around with ways to incorporate their cook books. I’m sure dad will love his Valentine gift!

Just got back from the CGTA (Toronto gift show). With over 1,000,000 sq ft of products, my head was spinning!! My mission was to find new and exciting products for the retail section of my studio. I’m excited to say that some funky one-of-a-kind items are arriving soon! Frames, photo jewelry, you name it! If it had anything to do with ways to showcase your images, I was on it!
I just want to make your life easier when you come to my studio. Now all of your photo needs can be taken care of in one spot. Great Valentine’s gifts, Mother’s Day gifts, grandparent gifts, holiday gifts and birthday presents!

As a Toronto child photographer, I have the pleasure of working with so many wonderful families. Nothing pleases me more than capturing a belly laugh or a loving embrace between parent and child. It’s these unique candid moments that we want to remember when we look back and reflect on that moment. At my studio the word “cheese” gets left at the door. There are no perfect poses or ways to smile, instead I am looking for “real” moments, moments that will be remembered forever. When clients first see their proofs they are often in tears because I was able to capture their children the way they see them. It brings a smile to my face because I know I’ve done my job!
